Welcome to Tomorrow

We believe that effective leaders don't simply seek "jobs"; they seek organizations with a compelling story, exceptional colleagues, and room for continued growth. As you scroll through this page, you will gain a better understanding of Pentair's narrative, where the company has been, and where it is going.

Director of Distribution

Pentair

Pentair is one of the world's leading global producers of water solutions generating over $4B in annual revenue across all major categories including Pool, Commercial Water, and Industrial Flow Technologies, selling their products across multiple regions around the globe.  Following its start in 1966, Pentair's first few decades were decorated in ups and downs as the company entered and exited varying industries including research balloons, paper production, power tools, enclosures, and electrical solutions, seemingly searching for its mainstay identity.  This dynamic changed in 2004 when Pentair officially entered the Water Solutions space via a strategic acquisition of Wicor Industries.  The next 20 years of Pentair's history were earmarked by successes in growing into one of the most powerful pure play Water Solutions companies across the globe.  In 2018, the final non-water business of Pentair's was divested, leaving room for continued laser-focus and investment in growth across end-to-end Water Solutions.

Of Pentair's 3 business segments, it's ~$1.5B+ Pool segment is the fastest growing, and highest performing business within the enterprise.  Over the last few years, Pentair's executive team has focused heavily on leveling up Pool's segment executive team, with a major focus on Commercial and P&L leadership.  Now that this team is leveled up and has incredibly strong momentum, they've now turned the focus to driving Supply Chain and Operations transformation, "boomeranging" Jonathan Sun back to the company as Pool's Segment Chief Supply Chain Officer to drive these strategic initiatives.  In addition to a major focus on building strong executive succession plans and a leadership "bench", Jonathan has been tasked with strategically centralizing and building out the segment's national Distribution model from the ground-up, which historically has sat within each individual production site leading to unfavorable logistics.  With that, Pentair looks to identify it's next Head of Distribution to partner with Jonathan and the organization to architect, deliver, and execute on this exciting Distribution initiative as the company continues on its growth path.

A Day in the Life

The Head of Distribution will reshape how a $1.5B North American market leading segment, within a $4B+ global enterprise, moves its products to customers. This is not a maintenance role — it’s a transformation mandate. Reporting to the segment's Chief Supply Chain Officer, this leader will help design and build the next-generation distribution network for Pentair’s Pool Segment, establishing new regional distribution centers and setting the operational and technological foundation for scale.  This is a pseudo-greenfield opportunity, blending strategic vision with hands-on leadership. The Director will architect and operationalize a regionalized distribution model, moving from a decentralized, factory-driven shipping network to a centralized, customer-focused logistics ecosystem.
