Welcome to Tomorrow

We believe that effective leaders don't simply seek "jobs"; they seek organizations with a compelling story, exceptional leaders, and room for continued growth. As you scroll through this page, you will gain a better understanding of Great Day Improvement's narrative, where the company has been, and where it is going.

Division President (Champion Windows)

Great Day Improvements

Great Day Improvements is one of the largest vertically integrated home improvement companies in the US, specializing in premium exterior remodeling solutions including windows, doors, roofing, siding, and outdoor living products.  Headquartered in Ohio and privately held with a long-term ownership mindset, the company has evolved from its entrepreneurial roots with the "Patio Enclosures" business into a multi-brand platform with national reach and strong economies of scale, generating nearly $2B in annual revenue.  Today, Great Day operates a portfolio of 8 well-known regional and national brands, including Champion Windows, its largest and most established division.  Through a fully vertically integrated model that spans manufacturing, marketing, sales, and installation, the company delivers a full-service customer experience while maintaining strong control over quality and margins.  Having experienced significant growth in recent years mostly via acquisition, Great Day is now focused on strengthening its foundation, bringing greater consistency, connectivity, and operational discipline across its brands to support its ambition of becoming the most referable company in home improvement.

The President for Champion Windows represents a senior 9-figure P&L leader at the center of a meaningful transformation.  Leading a ~$400M, business of 1,100 people with strong brand equity and a 70-year presence in key markets, the Division President will be responsible for re-igniting near term performance while helping reshaping how the business operates over the longer term.  Champion benefits from scale, infrastructure, and customer recognition, but also faces real opportunities to modernize its commercial execution, strengthen management capabilities, and improve consistency across markets.  This is is a hands-on opportunity to bring structure to a business that has historically operated with a high degree of autonomy, upgrading talent, refining processes, and building a more repeatable operating model.  Supported by an engaged and evolving enterprise leadership team, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact both in repositioning Champion for sustained success and in helping shape the future direction of Great Day Improvements more broadly as an executive successful plan hire.

A Foundation you can build on

Getting a sense of the foundation that has been built prior to your arrival offers a lens through which you can see where your career may go.

History

Great Day Improvements traces its roots to 2012, when Ed Weinfurtner began reimagining Patio Enclosures, an established and longstanding sunroom and outdoor living business, as the foundation for a broader, entrepreneurial growth platform. What started as a focused effort around Patio Enclosures and Stanek Windows evolved into the genesis of Great Day Improvements, built on a vision to scale a differentiated, direct-to-consumer home improvement company. Following formalization of the platform, the business expanded through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, thoughtfully adding complementary brands and capabilities. Among the most significant milestones was the acquisition of Champion Windows and Universal Windows Direct, which meaningfully expanded the company’s reach and scale. Champion, in particular, brought a nationally recognized brand with a rich history dating back to 1953 and a strong presence across key markets. While growth through acquisition has been an important driver, Great Day Improvements has also invested heavily in operational excellence, manufacturing, and marketing to support a vertically integrated model.

Home Improvement Products & Services

The home improvement products and services industry is a large, highly fragmented market comprising manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and direct-to-consumer service providers focused on repair, replacement, and upgrade projects across residential exteriors and interiors. Within this landscape, homeowners increasingly value turnkey solutions that combine product manufacturing, sales, installation, and service into a seamless experience, particularly in categories such as windows, doors, roofing, and outdoor living. Great Day Improvements distinguishes itself through a vertically integrated, multi-brand platform that spans manufacturing, marketing, and installation. Through brands such as Champion Windows, the company delivers a consultative, end-to-end customer experience while maintaining control over quality, pricing, and lead generation. This model positions Great Day Improvements between traditional contractors and pure-play manufacturers, enabling greater scalability, brand consistency, and margin capture, while aligning with broader industry trends toward consolidation, professionalization, and omni-channel customer acquisition.

Scale

Great Day Improvements operates at significant scale within the home improvement sector as a privately held, vertically integrated platform of brands generating well nearly $2B in annual revenue and employing several thousands of team members across a national footprint.  Within this platform, Champion Windows represents one of the largest and most mature divisions, with about 1,100 employees, generating ~$400 million in annual revenue across a broad 40-market landscape.  As a direct-to-consumer provider of windows, doors, and related exterior products, Champion operates at a higher volume than many regional competitors, supported by its legacy brand recognition, in-house manufacturing capabilities, and extensive installation network, while still offering meaningful opportunity for operational improvement and performance optimization at scale.

A Day in the Life

The President will lead Champion Windows through its next phase of growth and operational evolution.  As the company’s largest and most established division, Champion is a ~$400M national business with strong brand recognition, vertically integrated capabilities, and a meaningful installed base.  The Division President will assume full P&L responsibility, directly leading sales, marketing, field operations, and performance management across a national footprint of 57 markets across 7 core regions, and will have dotted line leadership over HR, IT, Accounting/Finance, and significant influence within the centralized Manufacturing organization.  This role is centered on building a more consistent, disciplined, and scalable field operating model, strengthening execution in the near term while unlocking the full potential of a well-known brand with significant runway for growth. In line with Great Day’s broader leadership philosophy, success will require not only delivering financial performance, but also fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across the organization.

This leader will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, but with a bias toward action, visibility, and connection to the field.  The role demands a highly engaged leader who builds credibility by spending time with teams, understanding how the business truly operates, and developing a deep appreciation for the people, processes, and customer experience at the ground level.  Early priorities will center on assessing talent, strengthening leadership at multiple levels, and addressing key disconnects across the business, particularly between field execution and broader operational and manufacturing realities.  Longer term, this executive will drive greater alignment and consistency across regions, refine how products are positioned and sold, and implement the structural improvements needed to scale effectively.  In addition to optimizing the Champion business and leaving a fingerprint on a 70 year old storied brand, this President will be looked at as a succession plan executive, ideally showing promise for succession at the highest level of the enterprise.
