Renewal by Andersen, the extremely high growth direct-to-consumer custom replacement window subsidiary organization of Andersen Corporation, has experienced explosive growth and maturation over the last decade as it has become the largest full-service residential remodeling company in its modern category. In its most recent fiscal year, Renewal by Andersen generated over $3 Billion in total sales across its network of 100+ field locations throughout the United States and into Canada. Having recently developed and unveiled of a suite of products tailored to coastal climates across the US, Renewal's executive team has now begun to focus on developing its presence across South Florida, a greenfield market opportunity for the company with significant untapped potential. Senior leadership is firmly confident that the South Florida market has the chance to become one of the largest, if not the single largest market across Renewal's North American footprint. This Operations leader will play a critical role in the building, growth, and development of this business by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and leading all aspects of operations, including inventory management, service operations, and certain supply chain functions. In this true "leader of leaders" role, this person will act as a crucial thought partner to the Area Director as the team begins their exciting growth venture into Southern Florida.

Renewal by Andersen is the full service, direct-to-consumer window replacement division of Andersen Corporation, North America's largest and most reputable window and door manufacturer and brand. History

Andersen Corporation was founded in 1903 along the Saint Croix River by Hans Andersen and his family. In the mid 1990's, having established itself as a top brand in its category, Andersen saw an opportunity to introduce a custom replacement window division. Renewal by Andersen was born of this decision roughly 25 years ago as the vertically integrated, full-service direct-to-consumer “replacement window” division of Andersen and has since grown tremendously, driving major bottom-line performance and extensive innovation across Andersen's enterprise.

Nick Wright

Area Director (Direct Manager)

Nick Wright is known across the Renewal business as one of the most intentional, down to earth leaders, but is also one of the most successful due to his engaging personality and high emotional intelligence, effectively empathizing and communicating with his team to overcome obstacles. With a strong background in telecommunications at US Cellular and Comcast, Nick transitioned seamlessly to RbA as a General Manager, inheriting an underperforming Chicago market. Balancing out Nick's humility is his fervent competitive nature, and after 3 years leading the Chicago market, he impressively grew the business from ~$30 million to over $100 million, establishing Chicago as one of the largest single networks at Renewal. After Nick and his wife recently moved to Bonita Springs, the stars aligned for him to lead the greenfield market initiative in Southern Florida as the new Area Director. In order to effectively tap into the potential of the market, Nick is looking to hire and partner with a strategic thought leader to drive and lead their large Operations vertical.

Tim Pepera

Tim maintains a reputation as one of the most impactful former General Managers to have led within Renewal's company-owned retail network in the last 10 years who grew Renewal's Twin Cities market by over 4x during his tenure in the role, earning several promotions thereafter. He now leads all of RbA's company-owned markets across the US. Tim is a working leader with tremendous knowledge of Renewal's uniquely nuanced business model and demonstrates an ultra-focus on organizational culture design, leadership development initiatives, and hiring incredibly aspirational, talented people. He is a positive and empathetic "servant leader" who puts people first, and has a history of driving unparalleled levels of performance within his areas of accountability. Tim's direct reports consider him a "partner" type leader, versus strictly a boss. He sets clear expectations for his leadership team, and gives them full autonomy to drive their own unique approach within their business.

A Day in the Life

As RbA looks to capitalize and expand into a new market in South Florida, the executive team will hire an Operations leader who will be responsible for building and leading a single, centralized/consolidated operations department dedicated to the SW (Fort Myers/Naples area) and SE (Miami area) territories, operating as a strategic thought partner as the company builds this new market from the ground up. This critical leader will be responsible for managing and driving the process of continuous improvement for the operations and service teams, along with post-sale operations to assure delivery of succinct, outstanding service and quality throughout all phases of the process. Moreover, this person will be hiring, mentoring, and coaching a diversely skilled team including both individual contributors and other people leaders. It will be vital to evolve their overall business acumen and ability to understand how operations plays a critical role in driving the growth of a uniquely fast-paced business model. 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver agreed upon results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, costs, and employee satisfaction/development 
  • Define and communicate performance targets for safety, quality, delivery, costs and employee engagement/development with the team.  Hold the team accountable to those targets.
  • Develop, implement, and support plans to provide process improvement in key areas defined above.  Improvement initiatives will be aligned with AMS/lean/CI principles and our strategic plan.
  • Establish an environment conducive to high levels of engagement, morale, employee satisfaction, and performance based on the Andersen Enterprise Values and Vision.
  • Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the function, and ensure cross-organization collaboration and employee involvement where appropriate
  • Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to employees and managers to promote the growth and development of the team.

  • 4 year degree or equivalent, and 10+ years of business operations supervisory or leadership experience

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of establishing world-class Lean, Safety, and Quality processes and facilitating Kaizen events (ideal)

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including the ability to work and motivate people
