Renewal by Andersen, the extremely high growth direct-to-consumer replacement window subsidiary organization of Andersen Corporation, has experienced explosive growth and maturation over the last decade as it has become the largest full-service direct-to-consumer remodeling company in its category. In its most recent fiscal year, Renewal by Andersen generated nearly $4 Billion in total sales across company owned operations and its robust network of 100+ independently owned and operated affiliates across the US, who exclusively sell and install Renewal products and services under the Renewal by Andersen brand. One of the longest standing affiliate owners in Renewal's network today is the Birner Family, based in Houston TX, which owns and operates Renewal by Andersen of Houston. RbA Houston is a well-established business, with over 20 years of history, that is now on track to generate $60M in total revenue this year with immense growth opportunity ahead due to recent territory expansion and the introduction of new coastal and ancillary products to better serve the needs of their consumers. With this in mind, the executive team is thrilled to add a new sales leader to their already first-class leadership bench to continue the growth and mentorship of their large, talented sales organization and significantly impact the maturation and success of RbA of Houston.

Renewal by Andersen is the full service, direct-to-consumer window replacement division of Andersen Corporation, North America's largest and most reputable window and door manufacturer and brand. Renewal is the fastest-growing division of Andersen Corporation, experiencing 20%+ year-over-year growth over nearly the last decade.

History

Andersen Corporation was founded in 1903 along the Saint Croix River in Minnesota by Hans Andersen and his family. In the mid 1990's, having established itself as a top brand in its category, Andersen saw an opportunity to introduce a custom replacement window division. Renewal by Andersen was born of this decision over 25 years ago as the vertically integrated, full-service, direct-to-consumer “replacement window” division of Andersen and has since grown tremendously, driving major bottom-line performance and extensive innovation across Andersen's enterprise.  With interest in scaling quickly while not sacrificing brand excellence, Renewal intelligently developed a fully exclusive, independently-owned affiliate program.  Bob Birner, CEO of Renewal by Andersen of Houston, and his family jumped into Renewal's affiliate program many years ago and now, have driven the growth of their business to nearly $60M in revenue (2022) with an incredibly strong growth outlook across an expanded TX territory.

Bob Birner

President/Owner

Bob is an extremely reputable and inspirational seasoned leader and military veteran with over 25 years of experience in the building materials space. As the President and Owner of RbA Houston, Bob is known for his genuine approach to leading people in a humble and considerate way without ego. This approach is reflected in the people of the organization; Bob and the leadership team have developed a unique culture that places a high degree of importance on mentorship and being open and honest with direct feedback to help team members realize their full potential. In addition, Bob puts a premium on creating growth opportunities for his team, establishing rewarding career paths allowing leaders to have a significant impact on the business and its people. RbA Houston is on track for a record year, but there is no slowing down with lofty goals and aspirations ahead. Bob's sheer talent and progressive mindset drive him forward and he's excited for Houston to reach its full potential. 

Tyler Bowman

Sales Manager (RbA Of Houston)
After 14 years in sales leadership with Mattress Firm, Tyler Bowman joined RbA of Houston in early 2020.  He was the first of several key leadership hires as Bob Birner (President) made a firm and intentional decision to drive positive culture change inside the sales organization in Houston.  Tyler has been extremely impactful to the sales team, driving a culture of care, positivity, energy, and accountability.  He now leads a growing team of nearly 40 sales reps, trainers, and supervisors and is excited about the prospect of another talented sales leader joining him to continue the major growth of the group.

David Reber

General Manager (RbA Of Kansas City)

David is a charismatic senior level servant-leader with 20 years of experience in the building materials industry who led an In-Home Services Division for Home Depot, and most recently, has been the General Manager of RbA of Kansas City (owned by the Birner family) for over 16 years. Since joining the company in 2006, David has been an integral component of Renewal's success, and a beloved confidant to the Birner family, developing strong relationships across the organization, positively impacting employee engagement, and spending a lot of time and energy hiring the right people while allowing them to flourish in their careers with the company. During his tenure in Kansas City, David has driven immense growth for the Kansas City market with no signs of slowing down. 

Jeff Woodward

Director of Sales (RbA of Kansas City)
Jeff is known across the entirety of Renewal by Andersen's US and Canadian network as, arguably, the most talented sales leader in the history of the company.  With nearly 15 years of experience selling and leading large sales teams in the direct-to-consumer in-home space, Jeff is an expert at his craft.  More importantly, he has extremely high EQ and represents servant leadership in the purest form.  Not only is Jeff a rockstar sales person, he is also extremely skilled at developing other top sales people, and impacting their lives in extremely positive ways.  Jeff will be a part of the hiring process for Houston's next Sales Manager, and will be an integral part of the onboarding and training process for the person who is hired into the role.

A Day in the Life

Reporting directly to Bob Birner (President/Owner), this is a critical new sales leadership role that will help the company achieve continued growth through the implementation of company sales strategies, hiring programs, and processes. RbA of Houston has grown from ~$28M in revenue in 2019 to a projected $60M in 2022, doubling its geographical territory along the way, and is beginning to introduce a suite of unique coastal products to the marketplace. The lead/appointment flow has been incredibly strong over the last 3-4 years, resulting in the need to grow the sales organization. This leader will inherit a team of 20+ reps who cover the Houston territory currently, while hiring, developing, and growing new reps for continued explosive market growth.  This leader will join existing Sales Manager Tyler Bowman in driving the continued growth of the function.  Alongside a team of reps, this leader will also inherit a sales Trainer, and at least 1-2 "Lead" reps who run leads but also engage in ride-alongs with other reps, providing feedback and developmental opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the In-Home Sales Representatives and Sales Support Representatives.
  • Achieve annual sales and customer satisfaction goals for the Houston, TX market.
  • Coach and develop a sales team that meets objectives, cooperates on team basis, and learns from individual successes - this includes sales ride-along visits with Sales Reps.
  • Track sales metrics, monitor daily results, and analyze for corrective action.
  • Develop annual sales goals for sales team, by territory and Sales Representatives.
  • Conduct Sales meetings that include plan reviews and role playing
  • Conducts one-on-one meetings with Sales Representatives to review sales activity results and establish corrective plans as needed.
  • Teach our sales process by modeling the core behaviors. Provide communication and clarity around our sales process systems.

  • Establish an environment where all customers and employees are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Lead on-going training, hold sales contests, and conduct a formal performance review annually with each Sales Representative.
  • Developing others; build talent pipeline for succession planning within the Houston market.
  • Participate as a team member, with other managers in providing best operational results.
  • Work with marketing to maximize marketing expense to generate sufficient inquiry/lead/appointment rate.
  • Establish and maintain sales budgets.
  • Manage showroom activities such as coverage of showroom business hours, cleanliness of premises and displays, proper lead management practices.
  • Participate as a team member within the ARO (Affiliate Retail Operations) Leadership Team to insure alignment to organizational goals and direction.
  • Provide coaching and support to sales managers in other mid-sized markets around the country.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable accident and moving violation motor vehicle record
  • Minimum of five years of proven sales management experience
  • Computer skills and management of computer-based information
  • Planning and goal setting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Financial knowledge
  • Sound decision making abilities
