StruXure is a building industry designer and manufacturer of premier aluminum pergola and shading structures revolutionizing the 'Smart Patio' movement, creating unique and sanctuary-like outdoor spaces for homeowners and commercial clients. After StruXure was named to the Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies list for the seventh consecutive year, The AZEK Company, a $1.4B industry leader in luxury outdoor living products, announced its acquisition of StruXure in 2022, which provided a new level of support to further R&D and innovative efforts ensuring StruXure continues to set the standard in the industry from a quality and consumer experience standpoint. In order to properly and intelligently scale the company, the executive team built out a robust network of over 260 dealers covering the entire United States and into Canada. 

The top Struxure (Azek) dealer across the entire US network is independently-owned StruXure Pacific Northwest headquartered out of Spokane, WA. This group owns and operates 3 major markets including the entire state of Washington, Portland, and Boise collectively generating nearly $40M in annual revenue and employing over 50 people. 

As StruXure PNW continues driving major organic growth and expansion, it recognizes that its most opportunistic market for a continued focused growth strategy is Seattle. With a team of roughly 25 employees across sales, install, and operations, the Seattle market is in high-throttle growth mode and is seeking a seasoned sales leader to significantly impact the maturation of this market as it looks to achieve a very realistic goal of doubling revenue in the next few years.

StruXure is the premier brand within the outdoor living category, designing and manufacturing world class pergolas and cabanas selling through a vast distribution network comprised of 260 dealers covering the United States and Canada. After an acquisition in 2022, StruXure operates under The AZEK Company within their Residential segment. 

History

StruXure Corporate was founded by Scott Selzer who as a teacher with a summer-break remodeling business, had a homeowner request a pergola that could provide shade, but after surveying the market he found products similar to what he had in mind, but nothing great. With his entrepreneurial spirit he proceeded to design and build his own better version. The company grew rapidly and evolved into a manufacturer of its own system in 2011, rebranding to Arcadia Building Products. In 2018, the company brand evolved further into StruXure Outdoor, before becoming StruXure in 2020.

The StruXure PNW division specifically began in 2018 as founders Scott and Sophie Long discovered this pergola product that they fell in love with given their affinity for time outdoors with their family. With their background in flooring and windows diving into sales, distribution, and installation of luxury, high-tech pergolas was a seamless transition leading to rapid success and growth of the PNW division. 

Home Improvement

StruXure is a stand-out in the overarching direct-to-consumer home improvement space given its increasingly innovative approach, product disruption, and uncompromising devotion to creating spectacular end-to-end Customer Experiences. In an industry that is lacking in technological thought-leadership, StruXure is changing the game for their individual client homes and commercial customers creating transformed outdoor spaces. Their luxury pergolas are lightyears ahead of competitors in terms of their functionality and accessories. They can pivot 170 degrees for the perfect blend of sun and shade, have integrated rain sensors that close the pergola when rain begins to fall so furniture stays dry, and further customers have the ability to fully control it from anywhere with their smartphone including lights, TVs, stereos, motorized screens, heat/air accessories, devices, and voice activation with Alexa. These are truly modern, high-tech pergolas that have taken outdoor living spaces to the next level.

StruXure PNW drives over $40 Million in gross installed sales across its 3 branches in Washington, Portland, and Boise. Most exciting is the fact that, while StruXure's top and bottom line performance is incredibly impressive, it is still relatively early in its evolution as an organization with immense marketshare and growth opportunities in front of it.

Scott Long

FOUNDER & CEO (Direct Manager)

Scott is a seasoned executive with 30+ years of experience within general construction and vertically integrated home improvement organizations. Prior to founding StruXure PNW with his wife Sophie in 2018, he was a sales leader inside notable organizations such as Renewal by Andersen, the full service, direct-to-consumer window replacement division of Andersen Corporation, North America's largest and most reputable window and door manufacturer and brand. Scott has a deep understanding of integrated direct-to-consumer business models and a strong track record of success in these dynamic environments selling directly to residential homeowners. He is an influential personality who demonstrates a high energy, motivational, and direct style of communication while aligning expectations and remaining competitive around successful achievement of goals. With lofty aspirations for the future of StruXure PNW, Scott is extremely passionate about continuing to assemble a strong leadership team to take the business to new heights.

Sophie Long

MANAGING PARTNER

As the Head of Operations, Sophie is responsbile for running the day to day operations of StruXure PNW. With an eye for detail and gritty mindset, Sophie leads and guides the administrative staff supporting everything from the intake of a sale to product ordering and install. She is the bona fide backbone and driving force behind this business growing exponentially, ensuring nothing gets left in the dust as they continue to scale intelligently. In relation to her husband Scott, Sophie balances out the leadership approach bringing more of a personal and compassionate style to the group; she is always willing to go the extra mile for her employees and she's not afraid to get in the trenches to support her team.

A Day in the Life

Reporting directly to Scott Long (CEO/Owner), this critical sales leadership role will help the company achieve continued growth through the implementation of company sales strategies, hiring programs, and processes. StruXure PNW in Seattle specifically has grown from ~$14M in revenue in 2023 to a projected ~$25M in 2024, however with the appropriate Sales Leader at the helm, their goal is to achieve ~$30M in 2024. With the tremendous support of Alexa Long and the call center team setting on average 80% of leads, the appointment flow has been incredibly strong over the last few years. This leader will inherit a team of 8 reps who cover the Seattle territory currently, while hiring, developing, and growing new reps for continued explosive market growth. 

Responsibilities

  • Instructing, demonstrating, observing and critiquing salespeople on how to handle leads, measure jobs, deliver product presentations, close deals and complete paperwork by approved company formats and strategies.
  • Recruiting, selecting and maintaining sales reps within forecast. Replacing ineffective producers whenever necessary.
  • Conducting a sales meeting every (Day and time) to discuss successes, strategy, competitive differentiation, selling skills and other stimulating agenda.
  • Riding with each salesperson at least once monthly or newer and lower producing reps weekly or as appropriate to ensure compliance with recommended strategies and good work habits and to build trust and respect.
  • Monitoring and analyzing sales performance metrics, and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure targets are met
  • Providing guidance, discipline and consequences to anyone exhibiting poor habits, poor attitude or unacceptable results
  • Meeting with each salesperson in private every month to review performance and strategy.
  • Meeting with each salesperson individually before each calendar fiscal year to set goals that will be reviewed monthly.
  • Keeping track of all files of each salesperson, including: Disc assessments and Sales Aptitude Appraisals, Discussions, Reprimands, Earnings, and Commitments
