In its most recent fiscal year, Renewal by Andersen generated over $4 Billion in total retail sales across its network of 100+ field locations throughout the United States and into Canada.

As Renewal continues driving major organic growth and expansion, it recognizes that one of its most opportunistic markets for a focused growth strategy is Renewal by Andersen of Orange County. RbA Orange County is a highly profitable operation based in Laguna Hills, maintaining a team of over 100 total employees driving over $60M in annual sales and covering an expansive Southern Californian market inclusive of Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, and a subset of LA.  After 2 years in the General Manager seat, John Hoven has proven immediate success strengthening and scaling the operations and installation side of the business.  With significant backing and investment from RbA's executive leadership, the team fully embraces and expects to double, if not tripe the size of this market.  This organization is in high-throttle growth mode and is seeking a seasoned sales leader to join an already talented leadership bench to significantly impact the growth and maturation of this market.

History

Andersen Corporation was founded in 1903 along the Saint Croix River by Hans Andersen and his family. In the mid 1990's, having established itself as a top brand in its category, Andersen saw an opportunity to introduce a custom replacement window division. Renewal by Andersen was born of this decision roughly 25 years ago as the vertically integrated, full-service direct-to-consumer “replacement window” division of Andersen and has since grown tremendously, driving major bottom-line performance and extensive innovation across Andersen's enterprise.

John Hoven

General Manager (Direct Manager)

John is a seasoned executive with 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles within vertically integrated home decor and home improvement organizations.  Prior to joining RbA in 2021, he led in-home sales teams, installation groups, and field service/operations teams within strong “Customer Experience” focused brands like 3 Day Blinds, Smith + Noble, and Service Champions.  John has a deep understanding of integrated direct-to-consumer business models and a strong track record of effective team leadership.  He is a dynamic personality who demonstrates a high energy, motivational, influential, and direct style of communication while aligning expectations and remaining competitive around successful achievement of goals.  He has lofty aspirations for the future of RbA Orange County and is extremely passionate about continuing to assemble a strong leadership to take the business to new heights.

Craig Cook

Area Director

Craig is the regional leader accountable for the success of Renewal's Cleveland, Chicago, Orange County, Twin Cities and Los Angeles markets. He began his career at Andersen in 2003 working in a variety of impactful supply chain and manufacturing roles, developing a keen eye for process and continuous improvement. As a result of this expertise, Craig moved into the operations side of the business for Renewal, eventually developing and leading the national strategy for operations and installation across all of North America. Moreover, what's most impressive about Craig is his innate ability to develop other leaders, doing so with a people-centric mindset and intentionally learning about each individual team member. He firmly believes if he "takes care of his people, they will take care of the business". With a curious mindset, Craig is not afraid to dive into details learning how his team may better execute in three main areas; employee experience, homeowner experience, and financial performance. 

Tim Pepera

VICE PRESIDENT, COMPANY OWNED RETAIL OPERATIONS

Tim maintains a reputation as one of the most impactful former General Managers to have led within Renewal's company-owned retail network in the last 10 years who grew Renewal's Twin Cities market by over 4x during his tenure in the role, earning several promotions thereafter. He now leads all of RbA's company-owned markets across the US. Tim is a working leader with tremendous knowledge of Renewal's uniquely nuanced business model and demonstrates an ultra-focus on organizational culture design, leadership development initiatives, and hiring incredibly aspirational, talented people. He is a positive and empathetic "servant leader" who puts people first, and has a history of driving unparalleled levels of performance within his areas of accountability. Tim's direct reports consider him a "partner" type leader, versus strictly a boss. He sets clear expectations for his leadership team, and gives them full autonomy to drive their own unique approach within their business.

A Day in the Life

With an incredibly strong reputation and history, RbA of Orange County is in hyper growth mode and executive leadership has identified this market as the most opportunistic across their entire North American footprint. This region covers a vast geographical footprint in Southern California and drives over $60M in annual revenue, but has captured only ~2% market share, giving this region substantial room for growth and scalability.  Reporting directly to John Hoven (General Manager), this critical sales leadership role will help the company achieve continued growth through the implementation of company sales strategies, hiring programs, and processes.  Due to a robust and high-performing marketing function, appointment flow/leads are incredibly strong, which will give this new sales leader and team of roughly 10-15 sales reps significant opportunity immediately and a chance to develop a high-performing culture of energy and integrity.  Renewal sees Orange County as one of the most opportunistic markets in the country, with likelihood of becoming a $100M+ market in the next 3-5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the In-Home Sales Representatives and Sales Support Representatives.
  • Achieve annual sales and customer satisfaction goals for the Orange County, CA market.
  • Coach and develop a sales team that meets objectives, cooperates on team basis, and learns from individual successes - this includes sales ride-along visits with Sales Reps.
  • Track sales metrics, monitor daily results, and analyze for corrective action.
  • Develop annual sales goals for sales team, by territory and Sales Representatives.
  • Conduct Sales meetings that include plan reviews and role playing
  • Conducts one-on-one meetings with Sales Representatives to review sales activity results and establish corrective plans as needed.

  • Teach our sales process by modeling the core behaviors. Provide communication and clarity around our sales process systems.
  • Establish an environment where all customers and employees are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Lead on-going training, hold sales contests, and conduct a formal performance review annually with each Sales Representative.
  • Developing others; build talent pipeline for succession planning within the OC market.
  • Participate as a team member, with other managers in providing best operational results.
  • Work with marketing to maximize marketing expense to generate sufficient inquiry/lead/appointment rate.
  • Establish and maintain sales budgets.
  • Manage showroom activities such as coverage of showroom business hours, cleanliness of premises and displays, proper lead management practices.
  • Participate as a team member within the CORO (Company-Owned Retail Operations) Leadership Team to insure alignment to organizational goals and direction.
  • Provide coaching and support to sales managers in other mid-sized markets around the country.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of proven sales management experience
  • High energy, dynamic, and strong communication skills
  • In-home, direct-to-consumer sales experience a plus
  • Four-year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable accident and moving violation motor vehicle record
  • Computer skills and management of computer-based information
  • Planning and goal setting skills
